Overview
Eagle Pass is big, steep and unapologetically technical — built for advanced riders who like their mountains serious. The trailhead sits about 29 km east of Sicamous and 43 km west of Revelstoke, opening onto a vast alpine playground above 2,000 metres with lofty peaks and views that make the climb worthwhile. In the heart of winter it demands real power and solid skills; first-timers should tag along with someone who knows the area. It’s rugged and remote country, so come fully prepared with overnight survival gear, sign in at the cabin, and always check the avalanche forecast before you go. The access road is groomed up to the gas-drop point around 26 km, but there are no marked trails beyond that — from there it’s true backcountry riding. Not recommended for novice sledders.
