Overview
Blue Lake is the friendliest of the Sicamous-area zones and a great first stop for families, novices and anyone who loves to explore wide-open alpine country. The trailhead sits about 17 km east of Sicamous on mild terrain that’s easy to ride, with sub-alpine bowls and enough room for everyone to find their own line. Riders who like to go vertical can poke around and uncover some real climbing spots, while beginners can sharpen their skills on the training hill right next to the cabin. Snap a few photos — the views are worth it. As one of the area’s most popular spots, the lot fills up fast on weekends; ‘mind the gap’ when parking and grab your day pass or membership at the booth up the trail. As always, sign in at the cabin before you ride, check the avalanche forecast, and come prepared with overnight survival gear.
